Successful oc for 2500k?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I bought my 2500k and p8p67 from asus a month ago, and finally decided to oc this cpu. Since I am newb in oc'ing, and asus offered this automatic oc program called auto tuner, so I gave it a try, After all the tuning and programing. I got 4.6 with my 2500k and 1.36 vcore from the tuning of the program. After prime about 30 mins, the temperature tops around 56/57 degree, and no noticeable problems like shut down/restart within the 30 mins. So my question is this a successful oc? Should I consdier lower the vcore since I see most people only trying with 1.3/1.35? And what problems can be raised with the increased vcore? Also, even when I idle, I see the vcore fluctuates above 1.36, is that normal? Thanks guys

wait so after a half hour it restarts??

no. i mean been prime for like almost 2 hrs now. max at 58 degree. steady around 54-56 degree. no restart/ no shut down/ no freeze. so is there anything bad about 1.36 vcore??

no there's not, what cooler are you running??? I'd say you're pretty stable.

Silver arrow from thermalright. also a side panel with four 120mm fans blowing into the case. =D so what does increase of vcore do anyways? just draws more heat/power to the cpu?
