DoucheOS Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 my pc has decided that during a storm recently that turning on is something that it is no longer interested in. ive tested the the power supply in another pc, the mobo lights for power and reset on the board light up. I've tested the ram in another machine and its fine. all i can come back to is that it is the cpu and its time to bin it. any other thoughts before i go and drop some cash updating my hardware. Cheers, james.
IVIYTH0S Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I'd try the PSU more than that in another machine in actual use. Is the other computer comparable in power consumption too??

Is the other computer comparable in power consumption too?? i used it to boot an older amd box with my old hd4870 in it and it fired. the lights on the board i was referring to were the ones on the p5q-deluxe in the pc that wont boot. the fans dont spin nothing pulls power compared with the test unit where the fans spun up and it booted. jerk storm.
