RAM Overclocking Comparison Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So I thought of making a 4GHz club for guys to post their overclocks but didn't think that we already have cpu overclocking threads which hardnrg reminded me of :P

Therefore I came up with a new idea . Lots of overclocking revolves around CPU's and GPU's . So how about a thread for ram ?

All you have to do is post your ram overclocks (or even stock) . You must post your brand and model ram along with frequency , if its DDR2 or 3 etc , the timings and voltage along with any additional cooling on the ram that you have (i.e Corsair DHX coolers) . Post a SS of the memory tab in CPU-Z for us to see.

Lets properly get started ...

The AMD 3GHz Club was started at DFI Street... was definitely a lot of fun getting over 3GHz (3500+, 2x146, 1x148, 170 for me)...

Here on OCC the overclocking threads have tended towards sockets/platforms (probably encouraged by my 939 thread which brought a LOT of involvement by members here)... so now we have these pinned threads (amongst others):

AM2/AM3: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=166630

1156/1366: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=161432

I think it tends to work out a bit better this way because overclocking > 4GHz is relatively hard on AMD compared to Intel (generally), so with the per socket/platform threads, you get a better picture of what is possible :)

Each thread has different categories of stability tests, including SuperPi, so you can also gauge your total system performance (CPU, chipset, RAM) in terms of calculation speed, rather than just plain CPU clock speed, and also see the range of stability achieved by different CPUs, steppings, etc.

Feel free to collate information from the other threads into this one if you want, but that sounds like a bit of a tedious job to me...

Yeah I suppose its useless now , I should of thought thought about that before I started this thread

I just thought of a new idea for a thread that can occupy this thread.

A RAM overclocking club . This way all the members can post their ram speed, timings and voltages along with other specs and we can make another comparison thread.

Im editing the 1st post now .
