Brutality Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 So, after 2 weeks I received my 2x2 GB 1066MHz Transcend aXeRAM dimms and I figured it'd be a good idea to reset the CMOS before starting to OC the new RAM (I've reset CMOS and formatted around Nov-Dec when I got my Kingston HyperX 1066MHz's as well but they got pretty hot at 2.3V imo (which was advised by manufacturer) and since I couldn't fit RAM coolers below the NH-D14 I bought the Transcend's awesome 2.0V dimms =)) So anyway, the question is just if u need to format HDD when resetting CMOS and beginning to OC? Cheers Brutality
paulktreg Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 No need to reformat. Just reset your CMOS and ensure you have the correct ram voltage set and you should be good to go.
