SpeedCrazy Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Hi guys Have any of you ever had any dealings with scythe? There customer support appears to be useless. Heres the situation: 2 Months or so ago i built a comp with their KazeQ fan controller. About a month later its starts acting funny, by the time i get around to emailing the company i bought it from (PCMicro) their 30 warranty is up and they tell me to contact scythe. Scythe ignores all emails for about a week so i go to their website and it says their that the retailer is responsible for fulfilling the 2 year manufacturer warranty. I admit the controller is a cheapo but i needed a 12v controller and most of them were $40-50 which would have been out of my budget, and now it doesn't feed any power at all at full minimum or anything in between. Any advice, other than dont buy from them (PCMicro and Scythe) again.
El_Capitan Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Tell Bosco. I'd contact PCMicro again and refer them to the Scythe website. Let me know how it goes, I think Scythe should be on it since it's their product. Pretty lame since the scythe fans I have are pretty nice and quiet, but fan controllers are a different story. Locutus Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Man that sucks. I think I would just stick to making my own fan controllers (you can easily do it with a simple switch and a bit of wiring.)

Now you know you have to share the step by step for that
SpeedCrazy Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Ok. If anyone is still interested (which i doubt). I got my RMA back yesterday, the controller was neatly packaged, but not sealed, and had a bent capacitor and lots of dust. I am about to see if it works. El_Capitan Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Eh, that's good to know, actually. Scythe fans may be good, but bad customer support can be a deal breaker for me.
zao8350 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 i just bought that fan controller from the egg for $18. i got it and the 4th channel doesn't work, i get no power to the fan plugged in their at all. I don't want to pay 50% of the price just to RMA it so i guess i'm stuck. im pretty disappointed with it.
