ir_cow Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) are you taking about the plate that is right behind the cpu socket? because those generally aren't removed or suppose to be. if you're trying to mount the dtek fuzion as the title suggests than the bracket should but alot bigger than the square in the middle. if its the 775 sckt than the bracket is like an X clamp. edit: now that i think about it i don;t think Sckt 775 has a backplate so i'm confused on the overall question to what socket or what your are doing. The D-Tek Fuzion has a stick-on backplate to mount the block. The easiest way to remove it is to use a heatgun or something to heat the adhesive up to the point where you can simply peel it off the back of the board.
