Mediocre SSD Performance (Mushkin Callisto 60GB)

Windows 7 will automatically disable defragmentation when it sees a disk that reports 0 rpm spindle speed. The default allocation unit size is fine as well.

It might not if it's not the OS drive. I remembered having to disable defragmentation once (though it could have been Windows Server 2008), because I had defragmentation on for the OS HDD.

Sadly no, only my AMD desktop and an atom netbook :).

I wouldn't mess with it too much. AMD chipsets have been behind Intels for a long time - they still haven't gotten AHCI implemented properly.

In reality there's probably no way you'll ever notice the difference in normal use. That SSD makes mine look slow and mine makes my computer feel infinitely faster compared to a HDD.

Something's not right. The Crosshair IV Formula can do much better then what you are seeing. My Vertex LE on the same board.

I'm not sure what it could possibly be. What drivers are you using? Did you perform any tweaks?

Remember thats a different drive...

Not horribly different...although those numbers are *very* high for that SSD.

EDIT: OP - your other benchmarks look normal. I wouldn't worry about it.
