yungin73 Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Hey guys, im having trouble putting together a water cooling kit for my gaming rig im building. I already intend to overclock it so i know that WC will be a good investment. Things i will be WC are: Asus Crosshair iv formula AMD phenom ii x 6 black edition XFX hd 5970 I've been looking around on DangerDen and the parts are confusing me. For the Motherboard i have no idea which water block to use. For the CPU my guess is the MC-TDX water block For the GPU DD-5970 Water Block ( a no brainer ) Other parts include: Pump: DD12V-D5 Pump Fixed Speed by Laing Radiator: Black Ice GTX360 Tubing: Tygon Im a /noob at LC so any help will be appreciated
Drdeath Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) Cooling the motherboard is a waste of money. You will not get any performance increase but it looks pretty..... I would bypass the Motherboard cooling. These blocks for CPU are some of the best and are within a few degees of each other. EK Supreme Heakiller 3.0 Apogee XT XSPC Rasa For your GPU EK makes premier waterblocks but I just got a Danger Den Summit for my 5870 and it is less $ and cools wonderfully. Low 30's idle mid 50's load. I don't know if it is compatable for the 5970. Your pump , Rad and tubing are perfect. Water cooling is a great investment. With proper mantainence, you can migrate it to your next system. Edited August 24, 2010 by Drdeath
