Sakke1994 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 So I got a laptop (HP Compaq nc8230) and I'd like to OC it, the only problem is the BIOS doesn't even has an option for it :s. The specs : Pentium M 1.73 GHz 2 GB DDR2 RAM 667Mhz Windows 7 Ultimate 40GB HDD ATI Mobility Radeon X600 - 64MB I'd like to OC the CPU and GPU but how could I do that, I've read a lot of pages that software OC is a tricky thing, but does some1 knows software that works? Software to OC CPU and GPU and if necessary software for highering the cooling speed.
sack_patrol Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 If it's not a gaming laptop for like 1k$, you probably shouldn't overclock it. Judging by the specs...it's definitely not something you should overclock. Though it is your laptop after all so do whatever you want. Since there isn't a big choice in the BIOS options, what you'll need to overclock is software. For the gpu you can use AMD GPU Clock Tool, ATITool or CCC(crappy). For the CPU...I'm sure Intel has something...I'm too lazy to look for it though. If you are familiar with AMD, you know about the AMD Overdrive so you'll need something that resembles it, but is Intel compatible. paulktreg Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Be careful when overclocking laptops because heat can be a big problem.
