dario_92 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 what is the max i can overclock my cpu with the stock cooler ?
Water_Hazard Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I would say around 3.0-3.2, all really depends on what voltage it takes to get there since that is what is going to affect temps the most. You will just have to play around with it and see. Wouldnt push it to hard with the stock cooler though. Just make sure to monitor temps with something like Realtemp or Coretemp. dario_92 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 i am also stuck for a aftermarket cooler for my cpu too do you have any idead what ones are quiet and keep a low temp ??
Water_Hazard Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) Havent really looked in to air coolers much lately but I know any of the Noctua coolers are good, and Prolimatech. All really depends on what you are willing to spend. edit: If you are on a budget then something like this would work pretty well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835233026 or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835103065 Edited March 25, 2010 by Water_Hazard
dario_92 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 i have been having a look around and i seen that the Thermalright Ultra 120 http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProd...;source=froogle and i have a spare fan lying around. just need to look at some temps on these coolers. thanks for the help and do you know any cheap watercooling kits
Water_Hazard Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Cheap water coolers perform about the same as High end air coolers. So if you want to go watercooling, its best to save your money, and go with quality parts.

00stevo Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 can anyone show/tell me how to overclock my E5300 and can someone recomend me a good cpu cooler. First of all, look at the Socket 775 OC thread for extensive advice on oc'ing. As for a good cooler,id reccomend the arctic freezer 7 pro(version 1 or 2),on my E5200,my temps never break 45c and thats with 1.3 v-core @3.5ghz.I did get it to 3.8ghz,and it was stable, but i was paranoid i was giong to kill the chip especially when my bios started going berserk when i tried to boot it @4ghz! But yeah,AC freezer 7 pro would be my first pick.
Bandrew Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 There are much better options for the money than the AC Freezer 7 pro... Unless you can't fit a cpu cooler with a 120mm fan or are on an extremely tight budget don't get one with a 92mm fan. If you have a decent cpu cooler if you upgrade in the future you can just carry it over to your new build. Try Cooler Master Hyper 212+ http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RR-B10-212P-G1-Universal-Heat-Pipe/dp/B002G1YPH0 or this XIGMATEK cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233012 they both will perform tons better than an AC Freezer 7 pro. Edit: from the looks of it your board probably won't overclock well at all... If you want to overclock very high at all you will probably need to invest in a better board.
