cbjetboy Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I have had problems getting my memory to run at it's rated 1600 MHz. I have a thread here with the steps I have taken so far. Any ideas that weren't presented there? Also I have overclocked my rig to it's potential I think...I am a newbie to overclocking. Here are the numbers I have so far: CPU 4093.9 GHz @ 23X x 178 @ 1.40625V RAM 1068 MHz @ 178 x 6 @ 8-8-8-24-2T @ 1.640V CPU Temps 45C to 80C with 78C average with all cores at 100% under Everest Ultimate Stress Test 8-8-8-24-2T CPU VCORE = 1.40625 QPI/VTT = 1.215 IOH = 1.280 DRAM = 1.640 ICH CORE = 1.200 DRAM TERM = .80 CH A/B/C = .80 Are these the best I can expect? Can I do something different? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hyper Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Whats your QPI frequency set at and your UCLK multiplyer? You will probibly need to bump your QPI voltage up a notch.
RJR Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Are these the best I can expect? Can I do something different? Any suggestions would be appreciated. There are MANY variables involved with OCing and this makes it a little fun when you first start out. Populating all memory slots makes it that much more difficult to stabilize your ram. Some boards have a problem with this, others don't. I would try to up your QPI/VTT voltage (max 1.35v) and raise your memory voltage to 1.66v and you can also loosen up your timings if needed (example: 9-9-9-27). Zertz Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Make sure your QPI clock is at least twice as high as memory frequency. 3200 MHz in this case
