loki5784 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I'm running my 920 at 3.8 (19x200) on 1.18 vcore and 1.2 qpi. OCCT temps stay between 68-72c. I've tried for 4ghz a coupe times, but never got it stable without a huge voltage bump, so I focused on 3.8 and lowering my voltage. I keep wanting to get more speed out of this chip, but it feels like the voltage difference is too much for another 200mhz. Should I just call it good at this point? wevsspot Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 If this is for 24/7 and it were my personal rig - I'd call it good. In fact I did. I'm running my i7 920 @ blck 171 and Turbo Mode enabled to get the x21 multiplier. I don't feel/notice any difference in performance between 3.42Ghz with Turbo enabled versus 3.8-4.0Ghz with Turbo disabled. Unless you're after bragging rights or just want to be able to say that you run your i7 at 4.0Ghz - personally I think you're pretty good where you're at. Especially considering the low vcore and fairly normal temps.
cirro Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 add more vcore! your pretty darn low for worrying about getting to high (i wouldnt go above 1.35v)
