NocturnoNox Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Hello everyone! I just bought and installed new Seasonic M12D 750W PSU and when computer is turned off but a power cable is plugged into the PSU it has some little but annoying sound - like resonance or something. Little "bzzzzzz".What to do?
paulktreg Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 It's probably a coil or something on the +5VSB rail because that stays live at PC shut down. Have you got a lot of USB devices plugged in? Cheers Paul
NocturnoNox Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Only USB mouse. Hmm. I wonder what could be done to get rid of it....
paulktreg Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 There's not a lot you can do, either put up with it or an RMA. Cheers Paul
LahiruRD Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 If you do it right away, they could do a exchange. Or else as Paul said, you will have to RMA it
NocturnoNox Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Can it damage the hardware or it's okay?
paulktreg Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 If it's coil whine then it won't do any harm but it's brand new and you shouldn't have to put up with it! Contact Seasonic or your supplier, be polite but firm, and ask for a replacement. That's what I'd do. Cheers Paul
