What cooler should I use for my e8500?

That's the problem, you can't look at a cooler and tell how it's going to perform.

You can check out FrostyTech and also listen to the people who have installed a specific cooler. Any of the suggestions you have gotten so far will work very well with the dual core processor you are getting, even at a high OC.

I must not understand what you "look" for in a cooler. These styles look the same to me lol

the body of the heatsink can mean a world of a difference, especially with temperatures.

 

The only thing i see closely related here is the Heat pipe direct touch technology used. The Xigmatek cooler also uses a 120mm fan while your vendetta uses a 92mm fan.
