wake boy45 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Keep in mind my CPU is stock 2.49 GHZ.About 3 weeks ago I had my mobo replaced with the same model because my old one fried. On my old one I had my CPU oc'd to 3GHZ (Q9300). Since I've gotten my mobo replace I've only been able to get the CPU to oc the FSB by 1 (2505Mhz). I've tried to get it to go to 2.6 Ghz but it just freezes or reboots when I hit the vista startup page. I have no idea what the problem could be considering the overclock worked fine before without voltage tweeks (seeing that the Q9300 has a higher than necessary stock voltage already) or anything else. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Flibo Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Which mobo might this be?
wake boy45 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 DON'T ADVERTISE ON MY TOPIC! It's the Intel DX38BT. It worked fine before it fried and was replaced. My first thoughts were that the bios wasn't up to date but that really wouldn't do much but that's all I'm running on considering its the exact same board and I hit 3Ghz just fine on it without voltage bump. It's at 2.6Ghz right now. Won't get to 2.7 or any further I don't know why. Also if this doesn't work out its fine because the processor doesn't bottleneck my 5850 at 2.5Ghz its just everything feels like it's running smoother.
