How to find out max clock

Recommended Posts

I use HWMonitor and Everest Ultimate. I can't use Real Temp as it doesn't support Pentium 4s'

Everest has me at 40 degrees celcius idle and 65 15 minutes into the Intel Burn Test.

I really think heat is not an issue, I haven't had to raise the vcore.

System Specs

pentium 4 520

GeForce PCX 5750

512MB of RAM. I don't know what brand it is. I know that it is DDR PC2700

No optical drives

2 Hard Drives

I've got 2 ST3400832AS

That's about it. my power supply is 350W

Your RAM has a max speed of 333 mhz so even with dividers, you more than likely are trying to run it faster than its capability. You didn't list its brand so I am assuming it is generic RAM.

You may want to look for some faster RAM to continue your overclock.

no, 3.5Ghz is not bad at all working with what you have...

that chip was 3.0Ghz right?

65C is getting pretty warm, but as long as it doesn't go much further should be okay.

have you stressed tested for a prolonged period to rule out overheating and instability as a whole or only partially stress tested so far?

may wanna run a stress test for 12-24 hours to be sure it will be okay if you plan to use this system for any strenuous activity.

edit: just reread in the original post that this chip started at 2.8Ghz stock...

this overclock is nothing to be disappointed with in this situation.
