Ferretbomb Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I wanna get in to liquid cooling. Thinking of starting with just the cpu (Q9300) My case is a Thermaltake Soprano which doesn't seem to have much spare room. I think I could fit a single 120mm rad at the front of the case, but I'm worried a single rad won't be good enough, I intend to overclock but the stock cooler I have is a bit rubbish so am waiting to sort out cooling first. I thought about mounting externally a 2x120mm rad at the back of the case but I think the rad would partially cover the psu fan. Would the single rad be good? Is there anything else I could do? Also, I read that if liquid cooling, I should add a fan to the northbridge, my motherboard is an ASUS-P5ND. Would this be neccesary and could I possibly liquid cool it? Any help would be great
davidst Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I would add the optional fans to the window side panel and put the radiator outside the case mounted to the rear 120 fan.
Ferretbomb Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Ah cool, got a side panel fan, that's for the NB then? So I don't need to worry bout cooling the NB after liquid cooling the CPU? And a single 120mm rad would be ok for the CPU? Sorry if its obvious, am new to this
