DevilMB3017 Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 A lot of time, for one. You would need... 1)A domain name. 2)A server with enough space for a forum etc. and enough bandwith. 3)Knowledge of how to use a forum editor. 4)Time. DevilMB3017 Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Normally, the person whom you choose to use for webhosting (the space and bandwith) can handle the domain name registartion. And I have no idea about the forum, but I do know its a lotta work to keep one going.
ravix Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 You have to be pretty serious to run a forum like the one here. Its a serious investment of time and money. If you got one off the ground, I'd at least check it out. And, about domains. Just because you pay the monthly/yearly(about $100 a year?) fee for a domain doesn't get you a server that will support a high traffic forum. You'll need to sign up for a fast server, or find a way to get yourself on a T1 line or above.
