Kingfisher Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Running Prime95 for Vista v 25.6 build 6 I am trying to acheive an overclock of 3.51ghz with current PC in my sig. Ok, this is strange to me, whats with test 11? I keep geting to 2 hours 35-40 minutes and it fails(4 times now with incremental voltage increases) Any ideas? ccokeman Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Thats not a fail its a timing issue. I some times have a core run more tests than the other for a set iteration. You will know a fail since you most likely will get a rounding error and the icon will turn red for the core that fails. The 14k test is one of the most brutal for temperatures in prime 95 so you may be seeing some throttling on 1 CPU due to heat. kitfit1 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 ccokeman is pretty much about right in what he says. The 2.5hr point 14k test 9 times out of 10 is where the test will fail. You hav'nt got a "Fail" there Kingfisher, so nothing to worry about really. Just leave it running, until it goes the distance, or it does fail. Kingfisher Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Makes sense. Thanks for the information. I am happy to report it made it to this morning and I stopped it before I left for work after 12 hours 41 min so I will say my 3.51(390x9) oc is stable.
