WATER FTW! right now i'm on air...thermaltake ruby orb [email protected] averaging between 45 and 65c idle/loaded....i've been considering wc but found it takes quite a commitment to make the jump...$$$....so i was just wondering if's worth it...?? Onion Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 VERY worth it. I never had air on my quad, but I know I wouldn't be getting the clocks I am getting with those temps. Atm I'm on my Q9450 at 3.5 at 1.352 with 50% load and my junky stock fans. 43-41-41-34 are my temps atm. 4th core weird lol. Also, on my Q6700 at stock idle I got high 20 to low 30. Don't buy this one though, you don't really need to blow the extra money on the chipset blocks (my chipset is on air and running just fine). If you can find a setup for cheaper, with all new GOOD components like this one, all the clamps, tubing and all the blocks, everything, I want a link... but I don't see you finding it anywhere. The 655 alone is $75 new, plus the Apogee GT: $50, MCW30: $30, MCW 60 GPU block: $64, Radiator: $50... That's $269 without the Res, Clamps, Tubing, Additive, Radbox, Fans... Try piecing it together from different sites and you add shipping at each of them and you're over $300 without thinking about it. If you don't need the chipset block (and you really don't for normal use), sell it, and you get your kit even cheaper. So... cjloki, I bet you'd find a lot of people that would recommend this kit, especially with it being all quality components... don't get thrown off by people harping on a kit just because it's a kit... Onion Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) I'm not saying it's bad because it's a kit, my loop is a kit (partially now since I replaced the res with a t) since it was such a good deal.
