bobthenoob112 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Its not black and I am looking into a new cooler because it is a hog on the volts. personally id get some decent cooling before oveclocking, if your 5200+ isnt the black, then you cant change the multiplier, but you can change the fsb still which i find to be the best method of overclocking seeing as it is less likely to damage your pc and it will speed up the whole thing... Archerzz Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) I can only lower the multiplier. Ive only bumped it up to 2.8GHz fsb 256.03MHz multiplier is 12. runs at about 40C doing normal tasks and about 50C in games and such so not horrible but yes definitely going to get better cooling ASAP. EDIT: What zalman would you recommend from that site, my old system had a zalman and i loved it, but never got around to overclocking or watching my temps Edited November 24, 2008 by Archerzz
dr_bowtie Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 for the price 9700.... for space the 9500 is a tad smaller and within 1c or less for the same cooling... I have had both and I couldnt have been happier...
