Archerzz Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I have a biostar motherboard and I am unable to get my overclock on my AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor above a 2717.00 MHz Any time I raise the FSB above 209 it goes into safemode, the only thing I can think of is my ram is trying to run at to high of a frequency. Problem is I cant figure out what the memory divider setting is I dont think my bios has one. Sad thing is I got the overclock to work for a few days I was just sorting out voltages and stability and got it to a 2.8 stable but then it just stopped working. So anyone out there with a BIOSTAR N68SA-M2T or a T-Series board having similar problems? or anyone have a solution?
scr4wl Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I have a biostar motherboard and I am unable to get my overclock on my AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor above a 2717.00 MHz Sorry to say i do not have that MOBO but i'm sure you can get that clock higher (i've gotten a 4800+ to run at 3354MHz) What are your full system specs? Also have you changed any voltages?
Archerzz Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Yes I raised the voltage to about 1.45v on my cpu at one point. specs are : BIOSTAR N68SA-M2T AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor G.Skill DDR2 PC2-6400 evga 9800 GT 500w tagan psu EDIT: CPUZ says i have the above motherboard but I looked at my book/box and it says this TF7025-M2 so not sure what thats about. scr4wl Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Alright well i looked up your MOBO and it does allow you to change ram timings. You should have a setting that says timings and is set to auto you can then change that. There should be another option that says Memory Clock Value or Limit you can change that as well. I also found out that your board will boot into default settings in the event of a bad OC are your bios settings changing? Also when did you turn the voltages up before or after the 209 FSB? Other people using that board said they could not get past 209FSB withought upping the voltages.
Archerzz Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I did it after it failed the first time. it says something like "Warning! System now in safe mode Please re-setting cpu frequency in cmos" something like that. And I have changed the timings on my ram, but I don't see anything about changing the memory clock value or limit, do you know what setting that would be called? EDIT: Also using the BIOSTAR auto overclock settings throws me the same error... EDIT EDIT: So after flashing the bios i went in set it back to what I had it before FSB : 235 MHz HT Multi: 4x Multiplier: 12x RAM speed to: 400 MHz and that Did the trick I am not sure what is/was going on but hopefully it will stay stable at 2.8 and I will try and work my way up to the 3.0 GHz club =)
