ElAguila Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 What is the maximum safe 24/7 temperature for the X38 chipset? I have a DK X38 mobo and because of the TRUE that I have installed on the cpu and the video card I am not able to get a heatpipe cooler on the chipset. I have a coper enzotech cooler with a fan right now and the temp gets up to 55C when under load. I was also wondering if anyone has taken the heatspreader off of this chipset. Comp Dude2 Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I'm guessing 55oC is fine and they prolly get alot hotter. What are you using to measure the NB temps? and have you been able to keep heatsinks on the Vreg's around the cpu (i googled but not sure which board you had, some had a big heatpipe hsf, others had seperate blocks on the Vreg's)
ElAguila Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I have the Dark X38 T2R. It only has some small sinks on the vregs. I am thinking of removing those and either replacing them copper microsinks or removing the thermal tape and using artic silver and replacing the original sinks.
