(feel free to point out another product) Evercool VC-RE Twinkling https://www.jab-tech.com/product.php?productid=2291 OR Thermalright HR-05 Chipset Cooler http://www.xoxide.com/thermalright-hr-05.html OR Thermalright HR-05-SLI Chipset Cooler http://www.xoxide.com/thermalright-hr-05-chipset-cooler.html what do you guys think is the best for me? Jachyra007 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 You could try something simple first, like putting better thermal paste on and re-seating the stock fan. But i believe if you get any of those coolers, they come with some paste. Here's an old pic of what my HR-05-SLI looked like, for the most part I'm averaging 40c [32min,43max]
CopyNinjaKakash Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I use the Evercool VC-RE and havent had a problem since day ONE. It fits under my card in a very similar fashion that yours would. Its pretty too.
dj29152 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 jachyra007 your setup is good... i c u have a fan too but the thing is that i think it would hit my card. but depende where i put the card the upper slot or bottom one.. CopyNinjaKakash what were your temps? and what are they after it was installed?
Jachyra007 Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Yes, i threw on an old A64 stock CPU fan, just to see how it affected temps. The HR is designed so the fins can be turned down like I had in that pic, or rotated 90degrees facing the front of the case, overhanging the Sata ports. all 3 of those have great reputation here at the Street, so no matter what you end up with, its a good choice over the stock chipset fan. brinco218 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 I use the Evercool VC-RF (the one non-recomanded), but I had to make the holles biger so it fits. The temps droped 10 degrades from the stock cooling. The fan has 3.700 rtm max with AS5
