UncleDavid218 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I'm going to be completely honest -- I can't stand when my computer is loud. I leave it on 24/7 and with this upcoming mod/build I am wanting to make it as quiet as possible. Before, as you may know, I was using a 360mm radiator to cool my CPU, GPU, and chipset. Even with my fans on the lowest setting, it wasn't exactly quiet (Read: wind tunnel) This time around it looks like I'm only going to be cooling my CPU... so in this case a 360mm radiator is definitely excessive... For an overclocked E6400 would a Danger Den Black Ice GTX120 be able to dissipate heat fast enough to not be my cooling "bottleneck"? This will be much more quiet and, to be honest, will be a lot easier on the account that no holes will have to be made If I do sometime in the future decide to add more components I can always mod my case more, don't forget that I know this isn't a "yes" or "no" question as there are a lot of variables... radodrill Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 The GTX120 should be plenty for a CPU only cooling loop.
momoceio Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 You can still stay quiet with fans...get some SilenX iXtrema fans. The LED series run at 72cfm @ 14db. The non LED are 90cfm @ 18db...insanely quiet for the airflow. http://silenx.com/index.asp
