gruntbull Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Wondering if the ATI200 LanParty board is any good? I have the LP ULTRA D but run ATI cards, and I want to check out Crossfire. I have one X1950 Pro, and I am looking to get a second, but as I understand I MUST have the ATI chip (is this correct I assume it is) Thanks for the help

It has its quirks but it should be alright. Yes, Crossfire requires an ATi chipset.
gruntbull Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Thanks, I found some info on them saying about the same thing with more words. Well I am not sure if CF is worth it now. I dont game as much as I think would warrant CF, maybe I will put that cash into a wi fi network instead.

If I had a bigger monitor, Crossfire would warrant something, but as my X1900 is powerful enough to handle what I throw at it, I'm content. noneed4me2 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 If you are staying s939 I would recommend a 3200 chipset based board, it supports more resolutions and is said to be a better overclocker; here's some http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....&SubCategory=22 if you prefer DFI the Lanparty UT CFX3200 although a little buggy is available here http://www.directron.com/lanutcfx3200dr.html someone has one in the for sale section http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73246
