Matched sticks....yeah, right

OK, I did some testing on my individual RAM sticks yesterday. One does 280mhz, passes 6 hour stresstest no problems. It could possibly go a tad higher even. The other hates above 263mhz. Thanks to that guy, I can't get my OC on both RAM sticks dual channel above 260 at the moment.

What do they mean by matched sticks, anyway? I know there is some fallacy (sp?) to that term, but I wonder if I could e-mail them and tell them the difference I'm seeing here. Wonder if they'll do anything about it. They do run above their set timings, though. They're just not matched very well.

A matched pair will run at it's rated speed in dual channel operation. A set that is not matched may require a voltage or secondary memory setting to run at it's rated speed that will prevent the other stick from working properly.

If the memory in question is the same as in your sig, it seems you did receive a matched pair that is running as specified.
