Drivers- what's changed

Recommended Posts

I've been running my board happily now for a good year; and am wondering if anything has changed.

I've just seen that nvidia have some sort of TCPIP acceleration - is it worth updating my nvidia drivers to use this.

What about the nvidia IDE drivers- it was conventional wisdom many months ago not to install these. Is this still the case?

Thanks for getting me back up to speed.

You know the score if it aint broke dont try and fix it, I am using ide drivers without problems, i have tried using Winblows canned and the Nv i prefer the NV, but that is just my choice lots of users will dispute......using the 6.86 legacy drivers Nlited.....all work fine for me.

In my particular situation I haven't seen any real performance improvements or degradations using everything from 6.53 through 6.86, ethernet or otherwise. The 6.70's have become my chipset driver package of choice though because they seem to be ubber stable with all of the hardware in my rig.
