alajarvi84 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Got those timings from a finnish friend working at mushkin Works perfect with these at 250fsb !! But the "trwt" (2) is so tight that if i go any higher i have to bump it to 3. The drive strenght is at 8 btw
Guest caffeinejunkie Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 you can loosen a bunch of timings that would give you a bunch more headroom w/ little to no performance decrease: DRAM Frequency Set - 200=RAM/FSB:1/1 Command Per Clock (CPC) - Enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 3.0 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 03 Bus Clocks Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 08 Bus Clocks Row precharge time (Trp) - 02 Bus Clocks Row Cycle time (Trc) - 12 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 16 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 02 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr) - 02 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 03 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref) - 3120 Cycles Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - Auto DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - Level 7 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 3 Max Async Latency - 8.0 Nano Seconds DRAM Response Time - Normal Read Preamble Time - 6.0 Nano Seconds IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles Dynamic Counter - Disable R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x Bypass Max - 04 x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(4 Bursts)
alajarvi84 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 i see... OK ill try with those
alajarvi84 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Oh , btw what would be the difference between the nf4 sata ports & sil sata ports ? Could it be that my sata drives would work more stable on the sil ports  if the nf4 ports are 3gb/s & sil 1.5gb/s , it should be more stable am i right ? Guest caffeinejunkie Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Well if you have SATA2 drives make sure to use the nvidia. You dont want to bottleneck them.
alajarvi84 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 But i have sata hdd:s. Could the drives work more stable on the sil ports ? Oh and the sata spread spectrum slows the drives down a bit too am i right ??
n_w95482 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I like using the nVidia ports, it lets me use my SATA HD's in the XP setup without having to load drivers off of a floppy . I don't have a SiI chip on my board so I kind of have to use them but they work really well I think.
