White_Hair Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I just saw this post on the ebay for selling this card http://cgi.ebay.com/1GB-XFX-7900-GTX-PCI-e...1QQcmdZViewItem Apparently it is the card used for quad-SLI  . The guy is selling 1 card for 890 USD. Can get two for quad SLI. I am not into Quad SLI because I think there is no need for it. However, will it be faster for normal SLI 7900GTX or just 1 of this card (especially playing the new ghost recon ) . Each card is equipped with 2 7900 GTX chips. Is it worthy buying this card or just simply get two 7900 GTX and configured them SLI? Need some suggestions.
red930 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Not worth it! Do you remember when SLI came out and how much problems they had until they reached a generation where most but not all bugs were cleared? ATI had issues with CF with the first generation X850CF that would only be playing on 1600x1200 resolution. I would wait until the G80 comes out if you're an nVIDIA fanatic, or the R600 for ATI. -CsA-TAZ Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I think just stick with one ATI or NIVIDIA and get the best you can afford! less time benching and more time playing games, you may have the fastest PC on the planet but it wont be for long! P.S, thats not a pop @ you or anyone else!
