dukegamma Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Will there be any way to recover data? I had a lot of irreplacable work saved on there
Guest Kobalt Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 I wouldn't assume it was a HD issue. I would first run memtest from memtest86.com. Then, if that passes for a few hours, then download the CD/floppy version of the Seatools, and use those. If those find no issues, then it is a windows issue, most likely drivers, or virus, or spyware or... Oh, and spinwrite will recover data if it needs recovering. red930 Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 You can always use another rig to test the drive. Spinrite is a terrific tool that I've used for years. If there's any chance the drive can be recovered, Spinrite is the tool.
