Finishing off custom build

Hi all, i am in the process of building a pc with a DFI NF4 ultra-d moboard all of the components i am using are listed in my signature. I have 250-300£gbp to spend on memory and a new graphics card, ideally i would like to have 2gb of ram but 1gig will probley do me fine. I mostly use my pc for games like battlefield2 hl2 cs:source and for watching dvds and browsing the net. So basically if you guys could give some suggestions to what i shud purchase given my budget it will be greatly appreciated :)

thanks Adam.

no no no

dont go ati!! go nvidia :D

get a 7900gt, 172 uk pounds, and some g.skill pc4000 ram, 115 pounds. voila, your solution for about 287 pounds. dont listen to them up there, corsair isnt that great on dfi mobos.

7900gt has 24 pipes.

these are newegg prices.

okay thanks for the advice ive preety much decided on a 7800gt or a 7900gt depending on how much my memory will cost the g.skill ram is a very good price on newegg but unfortunatly they do not deliver internationally :( i have looked around in uk online stores and for 2gb pc4000 g.skill it is around the 160£ mark, which is more than i really wanna pay for ram, so more reccomendations on ram compatible with dfi nf4 ultra-D , preferbly from a uk site please :):):) thanks.

What’s wrong with ATI? Then Nvida end of day each company has duds and that N/vid has just over about yr-2 in SLI granted ATI jumped the gun and tried to compete but I fink ATI are top personal but personal preference I had N/Vid and fort they totally S$!@ but I like the old N/Vid top notch but since then totally rubbish with update of 10 million drivers but I did her they got better with the 7800GTX as me bro. Has 2 of em and loves em

From everything I have read BF2 is a memory hog and really needs 2g of memory. I have the game and I'm waiting to install it after I finally get my 2g of memory up and running. I have some other issues I want to take care of before swapping out the memory
