tranphuloc Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I've just update my BIOS from v504 to v623...I used to think it will be a great BIOS for my comp...Disapointedly...It's realy a devil....After OCing my PC by setting the VID control and VID special control (1.350 x113 %) to get vcore at 1.526 ... this setting makes my CPU run very stable at 2.4GHz...However I'm not going to keep this setting then I restart my PC and set the vcore to Auto (both VID and VID spec )...After booting to windows...2 mins later.. my PC automatically restart....  ---> Oh my god...my comp restart when I was running everything @ stock   ...then I check in my BIOS .... I saw my vcore is 1.36 v ... I can't belive it... the vcore really low ... Finally I have to reset the CMOS battery ... then...every thing come back to normal anyone who use the Bios v623 have the same problem ??? v504 is the really GREAT one ... Guest Blooz1 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Did you follow the procedure as outlined in this thread when flashing? http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...056&postcount=
learners permit Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 That bios works best for the newer 754 cores Newark,Venice,Sempron etc. 5/04 for Clawhammers, Newcastles is best.

I remember having this problem since bios 9/14, and surely was present too in 05/04! When you set vcore to auto from any other manual setting it will simply keep the previous value less vid special control. I always set it first at 1.5v and then to auto to avoid this. e268 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 That bios works best for the newer 754 cores Newark,Venice,Sempron etc. 5/04 for Clawhammers, Newcastles is best. I am still using 5/04 on my newark. What works better on 6/23? Can I oc higher without increasing my current vcore, vdimm, chipset voltage, etc.? TIA
learners permit Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 On the Newark I believe the 6/23 would be better although only marginally.
