623--->Devil Bios version !!

Recommended Posts

I've just update my BIOS from v504 to v623...I used to think it will be a great BIOS for my comp...Disapointedly...It's realy a devil....After OCing my PC by setting the VID control and VID special control (1.350 x113 %) to get vcore at 1.526 ... this setting makes my CPU run very stable at 2.4GHz...However I'm not going to keep this setting then I restart my PC and set the vcore to Auto (both VID and VID spec )...After booting to windows...2 mins later.. my PC automatically restart.... :confused: :confused: ---> Oh my god...my comp restart when I was running everything @ stock :sad: :sad: ...then I check in my BIOS .... I saw my vcore is 1.36 v ... I can't belive it... the vcore really low ... Finally I have to reset the CMOS battery ... then...every thing come back to normal :sweat:

anyone who use the Bios v623 have the same problem ???

v504 is the really GREAT one ... :D:D

I remember having this problem since bios 9/14, and surely was present too in 05/04! When you set vcore to auto from any other manual setting it will simply keep the previous value less vid special control. I always set it first at 1.5v and then to auto to avoid this.

That bios works best for the newer 754 cores Newark,Venice,Sempron etc. 5/04 for Clawhammers, Newcastles is best.

I am still using 5/04 on my newark. What works better on 6/23? Can I oc higher without increasing my current vcore, vdimm, chipset voltage, etc.? TIA
