well, as you asked in your OP, rpm - cfm - dba triangle is different for every other brand. I am using delta 120x120x38 on top of my si-120. To give you an example check the table here: http://www.delta.com.tw/product/cp/dcfans/...20x120x38mm.pdf

 

For other models/brands you should find their spec sheets...

14 dba at 77 cfm is impossible, if you use the same rating standard as other fans.

 

How is it impossible? And have you looked at these fans?

Yes, I have read about them too.

 

It's impossible in the same way that a 5x100 watt $300 analog amped multichannel receiver cannot have that power when it weighs 28 lbs. The specs don't match up.

 

Unless SilenX has some magic technology that prevents moving air and a motor from making noise, 14 dB with that much air movement is impossible under say, identical airflow/volume measurement techniques used by panasonic or nexus or antec.
