red930 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I still say x64 is the most solid OS I've ever used, maybe I'm just lucky or an idiot...
soundx98 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I've been dual-booting on two Ultra-D's since last April and really like the new OS. It would be a very tough choice if I needed to choose one of them. Good info at www.PlanetAMD64.com if you have issues.
Guest thespin Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Haven't had any problems with Win64 except no driver for my old scanner - so bought new one, my antivirus doesn't work - but I hear AVAST will, and IE64 won't use 32bit plugins so still using IE32. Otherwise it runs just like Win32 on my other machine. It's been as stable as Win32 SP2. But I don't do games so have no experience in that area on Win64 ... Branjo Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Drivers for me have been easy the Nvida 64 drivers on DFI site worked 1st time the ATI worked fine too but no TV as multimedia isnt working yet. but i like the overall speed boost to the op system. but alas there is no great reason to switch from 32bit to 64bit. We need Zonelabs to make a 64bit version of there firewall as the others are pretty usless about 3 so far i think tiny, ghostwall and the other i forget? There is boat loads of sofware that works on XP64 and pretty much 90% of what I have is on the list. here is the link to the list http://www.ukgamer.com/article.php4?action=win64&type=
