Trick Question

How is it that my memory can run fine at 258Mhz, 1:1, and crash at 250, with the FSB at 300 and a 5:6 divider?

Is it my CPU or my motherboard, or something else I don't even suspect?

Multiplier is 10x, timings are identical.

System specs are in my sig.

Maybe the vdimm you are using at the higher speed doesn't work at the lower speed? It doesn't sound like a big change but ya never know.

have you used the oc'ing guide to find your max on the cpu?

without following the guide for finding your max on the cpu, its hard to say for sure.

have you memtested your mem?

you running 1T or 2T timings?

at higher fsb your mem might not like 1T timings.

Is your cpu stable at 300x10 with a lower divider to rule out the cpu as a problem ?
