maverik-sg1 Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Okay I have rev.A02 - my mate has just taken delivery of REV AA0 - I would like to know what are the differences between the two boards? Is one older than the other? Are there any plans for further revisions to this board? Mav
Angry_Games Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 no difference, only bios difference use teh search function to see this has been covered many times: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22072
maverik-sg1 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 BIOS Shipped in each board has to be the same - I will check. The reason I say that is that there is only one official BIOS release right now - BETA BIOS are used at your own risk (as stated by DFI in their own site) with comments like that I feel sure they won't (or legally can't) ship boards with BETA BIOS. AG - can I ask you make enquiries on this and get some clarification - of course I read that thread, it's just that this is the EXPERT board we are talking about here - The Policy may have changed since the older boards - especially seeing as any other BIOS (other than the release BIOS) is BETA - for those numbers to change on this board must mean there has been some changes - be nice to understand what they are. maverik-sg1 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 How long have you had that motherboard? Was it when they first came out or did you get a later batch? I am guessing that USA had stock of tehse about a month before we did in the UK too. Mav
Hoody Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 [n00b question alert!] Where do I get the Rev for my Expert? Is it the one under the 'mainboard' tab in CPUZ? If so, then mine is A3
maverik-sg1 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 No Mate - look on the board on the PCI-E slots there will be a sticker and on that sticker will be a reference. Mav
OceanSeasforMe Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 revision +A0* lands on this thread as one of the matches. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...=revision+A0%2A I cheated, and Dredged trhe A0 out of memory for the serarch. hope it helps to clarify. Incidentally, I had to hit CPUZ or SIsoft/Sandra (lite 2005) to find out as my board shipped with no revision sticker on the PCI slot. Ah, Edit, to go forward, I would expect past practices to continue = In the past its only a minor bios tweak and I would expect the same.
