Shivers Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 First off, sigh. This is my 3rd time trying to post my problem, it's been BSODing all over today. Basically, at seemingly random times, I'll get a BSOD with a different error message every time, so I've had a really hard time trying to track down what the problem is, and I (really) hoping someone over here can help me out. In my sig, I've got my system specs and links to their appropriate vendor's spec pages. AMD Cool'n'Quiet Program Installed (incl. AMD Dashboard Demo). This program was installed before any stability issues. In fact, I've had a lot of problems just re-installing Windows. There was about 5 crashes during a recent install of WinXP (non-64 bit because the 64 bit version never installed, no matter how many attempts). The crash would take place at different places during the install, and would prevent the install from finishing or from booting. I would format and try again until one install finally stuck and finished (although, like I said, I've had a lot of crashed since then). Installs were always done with only 1 RAM stick installed, video card and 1 HD only. I'll try and put in whatever helpful info I can gather here; Speedfan temperature readings; Temp 1: 35-38C Temp 2: 47-51C Temp 3: 55-61C Temp 1: 39-43C HD1: 49-52C HD0: 44-48C Vcore1: 1.07V Vcore2: 1.17V +3.3V: 3.28V +5V: 5.05V +12V: 11.78V -12V: -9.32V -5V: -0.83V +5V: 5.05V Vbat: 3.12V Scanning SMBus at $1C00... Here's an example of some reasons for crashes lately: * PFN List Corrupt * (Generic) A problem has been detected and Windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer. I've ran Memtest with no errors found, and a boot stress test, with no problems, so I'm really confused as to what could be causing this. I'm going to go run Memtest again right now, and I'll post if anything shows up, but I'm really getting frustrated at constant tests that reveal nothing. Please, if anyone out there has any suggestions, I could use the help! Oh, and I'm not overclocking anything right now, and haven't yet since I've bought my computer. The computer's about 5 months old, and the stability problems have been around for about a month, not more. (and yes on all the obvious, like power bar with surge protection, and problems didn't start following any power failures) Here's the Memtest results I just gathered after 2 full runs (it crashed at the end of the 2nd run); Memtest-86 v3.2 AMD Athlon 64 2210 MHz L1 Cache: 128 18114 MB/s L2 Cache: 1024K 4500 MB/s Memory: 1023 M 1962 MB/s Chipset: ______ Pass: 99% Test: 100% Test #8 Testing 108k - 1023M 1023M Walltime - 38:23 Cached: 1023M RsvdMem: 276 M MemMap: e820-Std Cache: On Ecc: Off Test: Std Pass: 1 Errors: 21 Ecc Errs: ___ Test Pass Address Good Bad Err. I'll look in to airflow, but every seems tied up properly inside, and fans seem ok. Glidus: I'll try to raise the Ram voltage. Can you let me know where it is in the BIOS (I could just look around, but I wanna make sure I hit the right thing). I'll be out for the next 5 hours, so I'll update more then. Thanks for the help. EdLSmith Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 HD1: 49-52C HD0: 44-48C Vcore1: 1.07V Vcore2: 1.17V Your HD temps are terrible. 30C is okay, anything higher indicates bad cooling. Check airflow. Vcore should be 1.35-1.45 stock. Temp1 is probably CPU and that temp is okay. Temp2 is probably Chipset. That temp is okay. Temp3 is probably PWMIC and that temp is within reason. Second Temp1? Voltages other than Vcore look fine. Try checking for blocked filters at fan at HDDs.
Glidus Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Kingston+DFi.... I'm having kind of same issue. For first aid, i would recommend rising dram volts for 0,1/0,2 that helped on me. (i won't grant anything about warranty..) In my case (see my sig for spefications) it didn't give bluescreens anymore@2,8v
EdLSmith Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Voltage adjustments are at GENIE BIOS Same page as memtest. Dram Timings are Genie BIOS .
