noho Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I just built this thing. I started with value RAM (2x512mb pc3200) while waiting on my xp4000 to arrive. I would get the error screen saying that I am using single channel RAM. Pressing F1 would boot up Windows without a problem. Then I removed the value ram and installed the xp4000 into one slot... and then the other after restart. Now, most of the time that I power on, I get hung up at the LanParty screen or the monitor fails to wake. After resetting once or twice, Windows will then boot up like normal. Is there something I needed to adjust after installing this RAM?
Reinvented Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 What bios are you using? That's pretty important in determing how it clocks your memory from AUTO. With the Mushkin Redline or just vanilla XP4000, i recommend you use the 704-2BTA bios, or even the 6/23-3 variant.
Renron Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 What voltage is your redline running? Did you change J17? Don't forget to reset the CPU voltage and change it to anything other than auto. My Redline memory was bad from the start. RMAed it but had no replacement went with OCZ instead. I did not like having to mess with the bios and jumpers if something was wrong in the bios just to reboot.
