MODS, you may close this thread as RESOLVED... finally

I found the hitching problem.

Norton Ghost 9.0 when installed creates a service that can be turned off via services.msc

A process named PQV2iSvc.exe is what runs in the background.

This process periodically takes up to 15% of CPU usage, thus causing a hitch in 3dmark and games.

...

You should'nt ever oc with the stock cooling on today's cards.

The cooling just cannot handle, the thermal gel/pad is poor, aand so is the surface of the heatsinks used.

You're just asking for huge trouble if you oc the card, possibly damage.

I'm not kidding ^^, but then again whatever :).

Just don't over doit dude.

Sorry, I left early and forgot to post something ;)(Cartoons lol).

Someone some time ago posted here about his bfg card, nvidia.

It had no gel or pad what's so ever...

Manaufacturing has been getting very poor these days with video cards, now it used to be bad back in the days of the gf4 ti's, it's really bad now.

When I oc'ed my card for the heck of it, before I swapped heatsinks and gel, when I did oc it the perfoamnce started to get worse and worse untill the point where it was getting errors even at stock speeds.

That's what I was trying to warn you about ;).

Mine used both pads and gel together, was made by msi.

Anyways goodluck dude :);).
