Dalingo Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Hello, i have just got this board and a new 64 bit processor. I have connected everything the way it should be connected but the system wont start. In the beginning the fans just started spinning but no sign of life on my monitor. Now the fans start spining for a very short moment and then they stop. Please give me some advise, i dont know what to do.
CPDMF Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 When first firing up you should have the very minumum hooked up. CPU, 1 stick of memory, and vid card... Clear the CMOS then see if it will boot to the bios so you can load optimised defaults. Run memtest just to be sure before you load up OS.. If memtest clears for an hour hook up your drives and opticals then set up your raid or what not and load the OS.
ezyeric Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Yeah make sure power to your SATA HD is unhooked. Try with that off to first get into BIOS.

Dalingo Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 same here. i have tried alle the things u say and it doesnt help. I have even tried with another gfx and RAM but its till the same. Is the motherboard dead? or is it the CPU?

desire Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 how many amps on +12v rail on your power supply? did you try building the computer outside of the case? perhaps the motherboard is grounding out on the case.
graham_h Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 its a real problem with mine. I disconnected the power after installing windows, moved it to another room and now it won't power up at all. the smallest sure gets through the board to nudge the fan but thats it.
