Propane Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 Well I installed my ccfl lastnight and it works fine (as in terms of lighting up my case) but if I try to engage the light when the computer is on the computer freezes and it sounds like it starts to rotate the HD at a few more RPMs - any ideas
sVperbeast2k5 Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 Hey Yeah, the same thing happened to me a lot too... One solution is to plug the ccfl into a wire from the power supply without anything else or with just your fans and other lights on it. Propane Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 ok - does anyone know why this happens?
DevilMB3017 Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 You must have two sets, or more, of Molex style connectors coming out of your PSU. Righ? Your HDD and CCFL are on the same one, and they aren't getting along. There simply isn't enough power for both on that line. Try to put all your fans/CCFLs/etc. on one line and all vital components on the other as sVperbeast2k5 said. FYI, I have my CD-ROM/HDD and one fan (lowest power consumer) on one line and my four other fans on the other line.
sYstEmATiC Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 or, you might just need a more powerful powersupply, btw, try to find one (if u ever get another one) that has 3 or more molex wires coming out of it. (mine has 4)
Propane Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 mine came with the case and is a 420 so it should be fine ( I also have 6 mans on a total of 4 connectors and my +12 line runs at 11.61)
