  1. Yeah, they're a nice cooler. Only thing I can't understand is they made a nice cooler, well built an all, but they done piss poor job on the lapping. Do yourself a favour and get a lapping kit. Other than that it's a damned good cooler.
  2. Have you tried updating your mainboard with the latest Asus bios? I believe that fixes your problem.
  3. #1. Oh I see, so there's the rules for the plebs (Us) and there's, well there's no rules for you is there. That's probably why I always hear people say that DFI-Street isn't such a friendly place to be, dictators aren't generally so friendly. But what do I know huh. #2. I put all available cash into this computer I built expecting it to be the best, it's not. As much as I'd, I can't just go out a buy new parts just like that, I have to save as I have other bills to pay. I will be getting rid of this mainboard there's no doubt about that, when though is a completely different matter. And saying that people should take up their issues with ULi is just wrong, DFI are the ones who manufactured the mainboard, it's their problem.
  4. Sorted, where's N. Trashcanistan just out of interest? Regarding the ULi issue, if these freezes didn't cause DVDs and CD I burn to skip, it wouldn't really bother so much.
  5. Is there any way of getting a single HDD to work on the Sil controller as well as two HDDs in RAID 0? I need to rule out if it's the ULi controller that's causing these freezes, but I need this single HDD for Windows.
  6. So are you still seeing the errors in event viewer Nem? I think I'm just going to get the Asus board to be honest, I can't be arsed with all this now. I don't get any errors, but I'm still getting the occasional freeze and that's with my two Raptors in RAID 0 on the Sil controller and one HDD on the ULi controller.
  7. Interesting, won't be able to try the driver out for a few days but I can certainly try the bios.
  8. Just turn it off then wait 5 or 10 minutes, then turn it on again.
  9. I get that message if I cold boot my PC, usually have to wait 5 or 10 minutes before I can start my PC. I leave my PC on 24/7 so I don't get the problem much, though it is annoying when it does happen.
  10. I still get the freezes on the Sil controller occasionally but I don't get those errors in eventvwr. Nemesis.ie, if you do know someone who is a lawyer, maybe you could direct he or she to this thread and see what they make of it.
  11. That might be a good idea, anyone got any friends or an acquaintance maybe that practices law?
  12. If you've only got two HDDs in RAID then put them on the Sil controller, the only time the Sil controller is slow is when you've got three or four disks on it because there's not enough bandwidth for all of them, well that's how I understand it anyway. I've had my Raptors in RAID 0 on the Sil controller for nearly a week now and Quickpar is just as fast as it was when I was using the ULi controller. Just use the Sil for RAID and ULi for single disks.
  13. I'm probably going to do the same once Conroe has matured for a couple of months, definately won't be going with DFI though.
