Projectile Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 (edited) Hi All, Well im just about over this unit and, disapointed i brought a Radeon card. I have been on every website immaginable read stuff about Vertical line crashes but know where it seems is a fix. It boots up fine and just randomly crashes, can be online browsing or gameing ,or what ever and Zap i get a vertical line screen each time of various colours.I have updated to the latest Bios, Ive try the bios in default settings Ive tryed it overclocked,i have updated to the 11.5 version drivers, i have updated M/B drivers, ive reformated, reinstalled everything. taken out ram, put ram back in as seperate sticks etc to no avail; If i disable the driver for the card in Device manager sure i loose resolution but at least i can get on and do stuff. I havent used AMD/ATI Video cards before and never will again, think they better stick to making CPU's lol. I have run Furmark, Card temps reached 82 C and thats with Catlyst Control at its peak and runs there for hrs no worries,I can lower CCC settings and yes it runs a whole lot cooler about 67 C then go to browse the web,or do any thing else and Crash. Just sick of it. Every thing runs as cool as there is a total of 9 (nine) fans running, maybe i could use it as a beer cooler haha! Any ideas would be muchly appreciated, My new rig, Antec 900 case. Asus P6X58 D-E M/B i7 960 3.2 Mhz CPU Thermaltake Fri_OCK King CPU cooler Kingston pc 2000 ram 3x 2gb =6gb WD Caviar blue 500gb HDD x2 XFX Radeon HD 6950 1 gb video card, "yuck" Thermaltake XT Toughpower 775 watt PSU Win 7 Premium Samsung BX 2440 24" Monitor I bet ive forgotten something lol.
