palosanto Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Hi, This is my first attempt to o'clock my i7 4770K machine. My MoBo is an Asus Z87M-Plus When I read the different BIOS screens, the memory reads as "Memory Frequency 1800 MHz" in the one screen and "1333" MHz in another. (see screenshots) My actual installed RAM is (4 x 8Gb) Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1866 MHz CL9 Dual Channel Why is it listed differently than what I actually bought ? What Frequency am I supposed to use in the overclocking operations , 1333, 1800 or 1866 ? Thanks in advance https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/80779383/Bios1.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/80779383/Bios2.jpg
Boinker Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Try turning on the XMP profile and see if that resolved it . Its the easy button. What it looks like is the Actual value is at default (1333) and the system understands that its (1866) and is not running it at that. SpikeSoprano Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Agree with Boinker, turn on the xmp profile, the memory should run at 1866 MHz, if it doesn't set the speed manually.
