wanksta Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Have not been here in a Looo00ng time. But good to know OCC is still going strong. Quick question... the max resolution is 2560x1600 vs 4096 x 2160 on other gxt 750 ti cards. Why is that?here is a comparison link: 2560x1600 vs 4096 x 2160 [newegg.com] Thanks guys
ccokeman Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 No significant difference there to suggest a 2560x1600 limitation. NVIDIA's spec calls for 4096x2160 support on that GPU. Plus if you look at MSI's site that card shows 4096x2160 support http://us.msi.com/product/vga/N750Ti-2GD5OC.html#hero-specification
cchalogamer Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I'm not 100% sure of this, but a quick glance of the cards shows no Displayport output on the MSI card so that would be one resolution/refresh rate limitation of it vs the cards that do. While it does support 4096x2160 it only does so via HDMI @ 24 Hz/3840

ccokeman Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 You will not be gaming at 4K with that card but if you are using it purely as a display for productivity its not going to be an issue and will not present an issue.

I want to agree, but having seen my 4K display run the windows desktop @ 30Hz for a good 5 minutes while I figured out it defaults to DP 1.1 vs 1.2 I would say it really comes down to if you plan to use a 4K screen with the card at all. Like ccokeman said, pretty much no way you'll run games @ 4K with a 750 Ti, but you don't get a very fluid desktop experience either. My wife looked at me funny as to why I spent the cash on the new monitor when it made things look so choppy before getting the settings right and she isn't your avg enthusiast you expect to be in a 30 vs 60 fps argument so it really is something to consider IF the resolution is something that matters to you.
