Hi All,
New to the forum. Got a few questions. Any & all responses welcome & Thanx in Advance. I've just purchased this Zotac 280 Amp'd card. I was runnin' 2x BFG 9800GTX OC (Stock) cards previously without any hiccups. I even got a 3D Mark 06 score of 16344 (XP Pro w/SP3). Now with the 280 card I can only get a score of only 14661 (Vista 64 Ultimate w/SP1). And that's only when I OC it to 735/1306/1471. Don't get me wrong it's a nice card, it can handle OC'n extremely well. http://service.futuremark.com/home.action?resultId=7568333&resultType=14 (9800GTX) http://service.futuremark.com/home.action?resultId=8728944&resultType=14 (280 AMP'd) By the way, that's the only way to get this card to run any Games properly ( Unreal III, Crysis etc...). I bought this card. removed all nVidia drivers as instructed, shut down, removed my BFG 9800GTX cards, installed the Zotac 280, rebooted, installed the CD then drivers, screen had some intermittent flashes (it got flaky), rebooted, tried to run Unreal to no avail, screen said Unreal has stopped working, tried to run 3DMark06 , screen said I did not have proper Drivers so I updated to 178.24 Vista 64bit from nVidia site, still no good. That's when I Googled for support and found you guys. Thanx, in the article http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/zotac_280_gtx_amp/ I read about this cards use of CUDA to maximize it's potential. So I D/L'd the Software & drivers, installed them & Wallah! the damn thing came to life. That's when I OC'd it to the specs above & was able to get this far Ok now, That's a hole hell of a lot just to get a score 1681 less than My BFG 9800GTX cards. Does anybody have any thoughts or recommendations on my particular situation. It's only 1 day old. Again, Thanx in Advance! Have A Good One & God Bless! l8trs This post has been edited by Malyki: Oct 30 2008, 04:21 PM |
