CowKing Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Uninstall all items that start with Nvidia in the Control Panel (Nvidia driver first), then reboot (you may have to reboot a couple of times). Use Driver Sweeper to get the last of any Nvidia remnants uninstalled, reboot. Do a clean install of Nvidia drivers. That's the surest way of getting clean drivers on there. A fresh install of windows is about as clean as you can get with driver installs. I try to install the 285 drivers later.
CowKing Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 just an update to this thread. I put in my old GTS 250, and it works flawlessly. This was definitely a hardware failure. What sucks is that I can't RMA it since I don't have the receipt even though I freaking registered it. PNY has the worst return policy. VicVic Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 does anyone have any suggestion for the same problem on AMD?
CowKing Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 does anyone have any suggestion for the same problem on AMD? The best thing I would suggest is put in a graphics card that you know works and test everything out. Heck, if I hadn't had my GTS 250 I'd probably have gotten some cheap one for $20 just for back-up.
