  1. I see you have listed a bios for the DFI DK 790FX-M2RS. Will that Bios work for the 790GX-M2RS as well? Will a Bios flash affect the Raid Bios? Is this Bios "pre tweaked" so that noobs (like me) to the new Bios lingo dont have to worry about screwing something up? Thanks for your time and hard work in making overclocking life easier for the rest of us. I know I couldnt live without your Bios on my LP UT NF4 board and was pleasantly surprised to see something for the DK series. You the man as alway's. *EDIT* After doing some reading and following your links, I see that it does support my board in question. If you could answer my Raid Bios question and the "tweaked" question it would be much appreciated.
  2. I could not find any settings in the bios for selecting which sata ports are raid. I have never seen so many different settings in a bios before and none of what i am used to from my nf4 LP board are in this bios. I am going to have to play with it some more when I get back home. Thanks for the replies.
  3. I am glad to see that the online form to email DFI tech support works so well (sarcasm) :angry2:. The bios might as well be in German as it has so much new crap in there only the freaking engineers seem to know what they do. And the manual does not help one freakin bit. I cant seem to get any help from any of the reputable forums, or contact DFI. what the heck? I bought another DFI because of their reputation, high ratings and I loved my previous DFI NF4 LP. I am starting to regret upgrading since I cant get any help with this thing. Does anybody know anything about this freaking board?
  4. That was actually an original problem I had when loading windows. I had everything in auto and could not get win XP to install. It would shut down after the first reboot during with windows environment install screen. I had to manually set the ram timings and Voltage to 2.2 for win XP to load. I also added 75mv to the CPU just to be sure it wasnt under volted. I have ran the stability tester with AMD overdrive after the install and had no problems, so I am sure as is sits, it is stable. Yes, I plan on taking this rig to 3Ghz on air. I wanted to figure out the slower loading time first before I started with the overclocking. I personally think it is the Raid BIOS. I dont know if when I flash it to the new BIOS if it also flashes the RAID bios or if there is a different RAID bios out there.
  5. My new rig is in m sig. The MOBO, Ram and Proc were the only updgrades from a DFI LP UT NF4, Opty 170 and OCZ PC3200 ram. The fresh install on the new rig seems to take longer than the previous one. The windows loading bars went from 5 with all startup programs going (OPTY rig) to 7 on a BARE build (Phenom rig). The Bios is September 08, and I know there is a newer one that will alow use of the Phenom II's on this board. Could it be something in the Bios that created the extra loading time? Could it be the Raid Bios? As I said, this is a fresh build with what should be a much faster rig. I set the raid bios with both 64K and 128K cluster, writethru on/off and giga boundry on/off. None of those seemed to make any difference. And yes, I have all the latest drivers for all of my hardware, SP3 etc... Any suggestions you have are greatly appreciated.
